I was given this book for Christmas by my husband and 7 year old son and was only able to finish it from the desire not to hurt thier feelings. The only good part about it was the feeling of accomplishment I had for sticking it out and making it through to the end. One word…. B-O-R-I-N-G

This is the first review that I have written and it is only because I want to save readers from wasting their time on this book. Its not worth it. The story line does not educate you in any manner and the emotion of the book is never up and never down. Its just a straight boring line of meaningless dialogue. I read the whole thing because I thought it MUST get better somewhere, but I was wrong. The only question it leaves you with is; why was it written?

Robinson’s limitations are on full display in this novel. Ironically, to understand home one must know the wild ride of homelessness or at least be able to imagine a darker side to community, as she did with Housekeeping, her first and brilliant novel. The lack of insight here is stifling.

I was very disappointed in Home. Very slow and almost boring. I read the reviews prior to purchasing this book and most were favorable. Sorry, but I did not think so. I did finish it but it felt like a struggle!

This book is not to be missed. It is written so beautifully that I savored every sentence. Perhaps not my favorite of this author’s books, but still one of the best books I have read in quite some time. I can’t wait to read it again…it will be part of my personal library forever.
